I'm a designer that turns complexity into simple, usable experiences.
I balance business goals, constraints, and user needs to deliver outcomes, not just outputs.

Work
About
10 years experience in UX, the last six in senior roles. I've worked in super, finance, retail, ecommerce, and gambling.
I currently work at UniSuper, designing member experiences for one of Australia's largest superannuation funds.
My outlook on design has always centred around simplicity. How can I take complex business requirements, technical and product constraints, and combine them with user needs to deliver a simple experience. I find this to be the most challenging and satisfying aspect of UX.
Throughout my career I've learnt the importance of being flexible with design process. Every project / product / feature is unique, which requires a tailored process - selecting the right tools, techniques and artefacts to deliver.
I've worked in waterfall, agile and wagile environments. Every environment is unique, but collaboration is always key. I enjoy working with product, technical and business stakeholders, rather than silos.
I believe in aiming for great experiences, but know that trade-offs and compromise are needed to ship experiences. A good experience that ships beats a great one that doesn't.

Personal
Outside of work my life is a balance between family, hobbies, and downtime.
Most of my spare time is spent stakeholder managing a toddler. He's a challenging taskmaster that keeps me on my toes.
I try to get to the cinema whenever possible. The goal is to watch 100% of my yearly Letterboxd watch list.
During the english premier league season you'll find me deeply engrossed in matches and fantasy premier league.
